Self Image

Self image is ones perspective of who he or she is.  Knowledge of who they are can either boost confidence or create negative doubts. 
A lot of people today suffer greatly because their perception of who they are is based on people have spoken about them over time or repeatedly.
The perception of yourself goes a long way to affect your relationship and all aspect of your life with others.
My healthy prescription is that love for yourself is important in your journey to building a healthy, positive self image or confidence.  Dwell less on peoples perception about you as this could lead to a toxic path.

Forgiveness

To forgive is to stop feeling angry or resentful towards (someone) for an offence, flaw, or mistake.

If we must improve our standard of living forgiveness is that vital tool we must take along with us daily.

Where we fail to forgive we burn in bitterness. The sight of an offender wells up unhappiness which is unhealthy.

Most times when we hold offences, the supposed offender is not aware. If you think someone has offended you, I will prescribe you call the person and talk things over. By so doing, you will be able to let go fast.

Forgiveness must be a conscious, deliberate decision to release feelings of resentment or vengeance toward a person or group who has harmed you, regardless of whether they actually deserved it or not.

One bitter truth in life is that forgiveness does not mean forgetting, nor does it mean condoning or excusing offenses. It is just a part of the full package.

Forgiving and forgetting is the full and complete package that is why it is an intentional and a voluntary process by which a victim undergoes a change in feelings and attitude regarding an offense, and overcomes the negative emotions such as resentment and vengeance

In conclusion, forgiving someone who has hurt you could be the greatest challenge of your life. But if you choose to forgive, you will join those who are not being destroyed by bitterness, anger, hurt or other toxic emotions. There is nothing quite like living in peace, knowing you are a forgiving person.

Decisions

We are a product of the decisions we made yesterday. 
We could either make right decisions or wrong decisions.
Decision could sometimes be complicated but never take a decision in fear.
A lot of folks have paid dearly for decisions they made wrongly while others are glad and enjoying themselves because they carefully decided rightly.
Do not decide in a hurry as you are responsible for the outcome.
The future will be a product of the decision we make today.

The way of the Ant

THE WAY OF THE ANT is diligence, good relationship, understanding times and season, thriving in challenging conditions and lots more.

Wisdom dictates that we go to the ant and learn of her way

Proverbs 6:6-8
“Go to the ant, thou sluggard; consider her ways, and be wise:
[7]Which having no guide, overseer, or ruler,
[8]Provideth her meat in the summer, and gathereth her food in the harvest.” 
LESSONS

  • The ant has season for working and resting. if we rest when we ought to work it will badly reflect in our output. If you are given a task or you undertake to do a job, do it with all your heart.  The ant is very disciplined with timing that is why you don’t see them through out the year. 
1 Chronicles 12:32
“And of the children of Issachar, which were men that had understanding of the times, to know what Israel ought to do; the heads of them were two hundred; and all their brethren were at their commandment.”

  • The ant do not joke with salutation, they respect one another.  When an ant meets another on the way, they touch one another before proceeding on their journey. This speaks volumes. they don’t despise, they value their relationship.  
In our endeavours, we will go far if we start by greeting that will progress over time to even partnership.
  • The ant relies on other ants in execution of a task, they are not lone rangers. If one ant finds food, it means every other ant has seen food, you see them in a line carrying the food. Don’t be scare to share ideas with other.
  • The ant never leaves an injured ant behind, Let’s earn to lift one another.
  • Ants are strong and diligent.  We must exhibit strength in every task given to us.  It is diligence that creates mastery and attract wealth
Proverbs 10:4
“He becometh poor that dealeth with a slack hand: but the hand of the diligent maketh rich.”
  • Ants thrives in challenging conditions. If we exhibit strength and skill people will have confidence in us. People who exhibit strength and skill are always in demand and admired, they don’t take a back seat to anyone.

Success

As Christian we must understand that God’s plan for us is to succeed.
Jeremiah 29:11
“For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the LORD, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end.”
Also God expressed this further in 3 John 1:2 (Amp.)
“Beloved, I pray that you may prosper in every way and (that your body) may keep well, even as (I Know) your soul keeps well and prosper.”
Success in any aspect of our lives is an accomplishment of an assignment, it is the product of a discovery, it is not a destination, it is  continuous and it is a favourable outcome of ones aim.
From creation, man was built for success that is why in us we crave to be successful.
Genesis 1:28
“And God blessed them, and God said unto them, Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth, and subdue it: and have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over every living thing that moveth upon the earth.”
In life to be successful, our success do not just happen by chance.  If we must succeed, we must take responsibility to make it happen.
For us to succeed, one thing is very vital; that is vision.  Vision is the blue print of where one is heading to as a Lawyer. 
Habakkuk 2:2
“And the LORD answered me, and said, Write the vision, and make it plain upon tables, that he may run that readeth it.”
Lack of vision leads to frustration and little or no achievement
Hosea 4:6
“My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge: because thou hast rejected knowledge, I will also reject thee, that thou shalt be no priest to me: seeing thou hast forgotten the law of thy God, I will also forget thy children.”
Faith is the force that transfer vision on paper to reality.  Faith helps you see your glorious end from where you are standing thereby keeping hope alive.  More so, Faith is now Hebrew 11:1 
“Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.”
Faith does not give room for procrastination and faith is the way to obtain good reports.
On the road to success, there is the place of hard work.
Proverbs 14:23
“In all labour there is profit: but the talk of the lips tendeth only to penury.”
Let us learn to do more work and less talk, understanding the times and seasons.

Its a New Month and Workers Day Celebration

This new month doubles as Workers day Celebration. Growing up we always observed the 1st day of May as holiday. However as students then, we never really knew what it depicted.


Workers day originated in the late 19th century as the trade union and labour movements grew. The 1st day of May was chosen to be International Workers’ day to commemorate the 1886 Haymarket affair in Chicago.

Workers day is associated with the start of Spring as well as the celebration of workers. It is a day set aside to celebrate the achievement of workers.

It was promoted by the International Labour movement: Eight hours day movement; eight hours of work, eight hours recreation and eight hours rest.

This day is widely celebrated by most countries, some refer to it as Labour day, May day or Workers day to promote the working class. But today we have disregarded the Eight hour day movement. 

In present day, workers scarcely have time for eight hours recreation and rest. This leading to serious heath issues.

I suggest we go back to our roots and pick up the Eight Hour Day Movement promoted by the Labour Union.

Communication

Communication is relating one to another, it is an act of imparting or exchanging of information by speaking, writing, or using some other medium.

Communication is a skill that can be learnt, if we must improve our personal or professional life.  This is because as simple as communication may seem, it is also a complex subject.
A lot of teenagers are influenced by communication, families are built up or turn apart by communication, office goals and target are either met or not met by communication.
To properly communicate one must be a good listener, understand what was communicated, be quick to hear and slow to speak/write.
Let’s make efforts to develop and enhance our communication skill.

Covid-19: A father reaction to his son

Going through my facebook this morning I stumbled on an interview. It seemed funny but it was not funny at all the reaction of a father to his son.
The son flouted his fathers instruction to remain in a place called Lagos.  Lagos is the economic hub of Nigeria and had about the highest number of covid-19 patients. Lagos state as well as other states had and still has the lockdown order in place in view to contain the spread the covid-19 deadly  virus.
As common with father and son relationship, when the son got into a vehicle he communicated to his dad that he is on his way.  For fear of the father not having a place to isolate his son for fourteen days, the father went to the authorities in charge to lay a complain of his predicament.
The authorities monitored the lads movement and upon alighting the vehicle at his destination, they took him straight to their testing facility where he was tested.
After the test, the father was asked to take his son home, to everyone’s amazement the father refused to let his son into the car and he maintained obvious social distance from his son.
The father in response to questions directed to him by the interviewer, he emphasized that the boy is his son but he cannot take such risk of Covid-19 despite the test had been conducted on his son. That the boy should be properly isolated in accordance with the rules.

MAKING A DIFFERENCE

In life I believe we all have goals and aspirations.  Where ever you find yourself it is very vital that as part of your goals and aspirations agenda there should be an item that reads; Making a difference
Making a difference is not a very difficult task, it begins with your belief that you can do something that doesn’t just benefit yourself but have other people in the big picture. 

Making a difference is like going through a desert and digging a well for other travellers to benefit there after. It is leaving a piece of you in everyone you come across in your very little way.

We must understand that we don’t need to be a President,… To make this difference. Your start point should be from where you are whether as a student, teacher, nurse, doctor, husband but to list a few as the list is inexhaustible.

You can make a difference by putting a smile on the face of someone. So take that bold step; a little show of love here and there could  be your takeoff point.

Don’t forget to make a difference.

A TRUE FRIEND

Every individual has their yardstick for measuring who a true friend is, biblically a friend was defined as one who loves at all times (Proverbs 17:17), he is one who sticks closer than a brother (Proverbs 18:24). 
A friend is someone who tells the truth especially when you do not want to hear it.
According to a definition from a dictionary, a friend is categorized as those who know, like, trust one another, those who support and sympathies.
A true friend is one who smiles with you and is always there for you to lean on.
In today’s world, the word friend has been ridiculed and abused to the extent that men has lost trust on people they would have called friends.  
Men do not find security sticking close to  fellow men because instead of caring, they end up disappointing them.  They fear to share their secrets with them as man’s tongue is not tamed.
One might want to conclude, if it is same with the writer, as it is with me then true friends are heard to find.
Permit me to introduce you to my true friend. He is named and called Jesus Christ. In demonstrating his unconditional love, he died on the cross for mankind even when  man was yet a sinner; paying the ransom for mans total freedom.  
He did not stop at that, he overcame sin, Satan, death and the world for me and for anyone who cares to believe and acknowledge him.
He yarns to be everyone’s friend, what qualifies you as his friend is to believe his redemption story, acknowledge him and tell others about him. 
All he expects from you is to accept him, by asking him to forgive you of your sins  no matter the nature or degree and tell him to come dwell in you.
After this is done, he communicates to you his will through his testament THE BIBLE and you respond to him via praying. 
I bet you your secrets are safe with him and he gives you peace not as the world gives in a relationship.  I have never had a heated confrontation from him as he does not force his opinions on me, rather he suggests and leaves it to me to make a decision.
I know as a fact you will enjoy the experience when he is your friend.  He made provision for a teacher to tutor us through life in the person of the Holy Spirit.  His intention for you and I is to prosper and be in health and lots more.
