Divorce Matter

Recently at a law office a Lady came over that her husband asked her to bring the divorce papers so that he can sign and they will path ways. I couldn’t laugh though it sounded funny because she thought it was that easy.

My dear divorce proceedings whether at the Customary Court or at the High Court level is not as easy as ABC, that both parties are already living apart is not sufficient especially where the marriage is under the act and there are children of the marriage.
There are rules which must be observed while the lawyer drafts the divorce petition, when the parties and their witness gives evidence there are certain facts the Court looks out for to determine the dissolution of the marriage.
Note that there is no time limit from when it will start and when it will end for the divorce trial as dates are subject to courts convinience.

Business Matter

Starting up your personal business is a wonderful achievement.  It is expected that you should have researched on your product, the market, your consumers and the risk associated with the business.

 

Having done the above, before take off of the said business, it is important you register the business.  

 

In Nigeria the approved body responsible for registration of business name, company, non-governmental organization is the Corporate Affairs Commission.

 

To successfully go through the registration process free from stress you need a lawyer’s services. Otherwise, you run a risk of starting the process on your own and getting stuck when you do it alone.

 

 

Not registering you business name before you commence the business, you will be unable to open a corporate account with the bank of your choice as you will be asked to produce your registration documents.

 

When you decide to commence the registration afterwards, you stand the risk of not having that name you have been trading with available in the future when a search is done.

 
Please get a lawyer at the earliest time and save yourself the stress of pre and post incorporation matters of your business name, Company and NGO with Corporate Affairs Commission.

What people will Say?

A lot of people are alive but dying gradually because they refuse to weight the end results of actions being metted on them. This has held them captives that could lead to lost of their lives.

They refuse to take a stand, make a move, decide to move on because of what people will say.
I came across a lady going through verbal, and domestic abuse in her marriage.  At mid night one day she sent me a text message; MY HUSBAND WANTS TO KILL ME. 
When I woke up and read the text, I feared if she was still alive, I called her line and to God be the glory she took the call. She was alive but had been scared through the night. She narrowly escaped been murdered by her husband.
I immediately called her in for counselling and told her the legal remedies available to her.
I asked her if her parents were aware of what she was going through in her marriage, her response was yes, that her dad has even asked he to come home alive rather than been brought as corpse.
I asked her to wake up to the realities of life decide to live an abuse free life. That she can have a life free from all forms of abuses.
To my amazement, she said she wants him to stop beating her, she would remain because she can’t stand what people will say.
Please what will you do or say to her if she is your sister or friend or relative?

Barbaric Tradition

Tradition is a part of culture that is passed from person to person or generation to generation, possibly differing in detail from family to family, community to community…
Tradition is a commonly held system which as we progress in society we ought to review and disregard or totally eliminate babaric ones as some are inhumane…
Recently in court I was irritated at the acts of supposed family members of a deceased male towards their widow.  
The widow and her late husband married under the act, their union was blessed with two children who presently are minors.  However the deceased died intestate.
After the death of the widows husband, her in-laws knowing that her late husband left behind some assest approached her to sell off a plot of land to raise money/funds for the burial of their late brother.
She agreed to their request, immediately after the burial, she and her children were driven out of her matrimonial home by her in-laws (relations to her late husband) because she refused to pick one them as her husband.
Looking at her predicament closely, it magnify the greed of men … almost leading to my conclusion that the so called deceased family contributed to the deceased death to enable them inherit their so called brothers properties and his wife.
The so called family members are having a filled day selling off properties they never laboured for, they care less about the minors who are their very own blood relatives forgetting that no man knows tomorrow.
The above barbaric tradition should be discouraged and espounged from our society. 
Justice may seem slow but at the end it is inevitable.  Being married under the act is a secret weapon in the hands of the widow.

Who Really Care

Going through life’s lonely path, I came to discover that my crave to find love and be loved got me to the point of delusion. 
I refused to tell myself the hard bitter truth that no one cares about what I feel or how I feel, what went wrong or how I wrote the wrong right…
In my delusion I stumbled on series of disappointments, embarrassing scenes and stumbling blocks, but determined to rise above the downcast state I was left in, I encountered a light that changes my perception of life.
I found out that the only person who really cares about me is none other than Jesus Christ. He showed himself as the friend who sticks closer than a brother, he taught me… and did for me what no man would dare to do, and he is ever present no matter where I am.
This was how I discovered my true friend, my ever present friend. I know without a doubt HE REALLY CARES.

Who Cares

People often deceive themselves that their friends, neighbours, family, husband, wife… really cares.
Have you wondered how rumours get started and who spreads them?
Have you ever found yourself in an uncomfortable situation and seen the reaction of the supposed people who ought to care.
The hard truth is that no one can care for you or about you more than you. 
Man’s nature being naturally selfish and self centered will place his/her interest above yours.
Wake up to life’s reality, takeout time to give yourself a treat, don’t rely on anyone to take care of you better than you.

Missed opportunity

There is nothing as painful as missed opportunity especially when you made an  effort but efforts put in was not sufficient.
We read about success that it happens when preparation meets opportunity. 
What would you say about this lady who went to work, prepared to handle any task put forth to her.
While at the office was called to come out for a field job with juicy attractive reward for services to be render. 
Delay was occassioned by mobility on getting to the venue, she was told to return empty as someone already got the job 2 minutes before she got there.
Who should be blamed?
Was she not prepared?

Life is a gift

Life is beautiful, some times it could be in-between, life is not owned by man, it was given to man.  No man has the capability to determine his date of birth nor predict his date of departure.

The conclusion of the matter is that life is a gift. Cherish every passing day you have. Show a little love and kindness. Live peaceably with all men. Leave a mark in the sands of time, impress it in the hearts of all you meet. Life is precious and wonderful.

Believer’s Victory: The Battle Next

If God has taken care of sin, sickness and death, the battle next is FAITH.
 
Faith is what we believe in, It is our believe in God. it produces tangible results but cannot be proven  scientifically.  Faith is not a result of logically calculated steps. Hebrew 11:1 gave a nice definition of it. 

Paul’s advice to Timothy in 1 Timothy 6:12(Amp) says, 
“fight the good fight of faith; lay hold of the eternal life to which you were summoned and (for which you confessed the good confession (of faith) before many witness”.      

In life, this battle of faith is very vital, 2 Corinthians 5:7 prescribed that sight is not needed. It is a thing of the Spirit, manifesting to alter the natural rule or principle of sight. Sight came into being in Genesis 3:6. Prior to the act that led to the introduction of sin brought about the seeing eyes. 

Faith is spiritual, it goes beyond what is seen naturally, The reason is because the natural sight has a way of limiting our possibility of attaining that which God has for us or which we demand by exposing and magnifying the negative things thus manifesting the obstacles.

Faith in the life of a Christian is essential because Hebrew 11:6 states “But without faith it is impossible to please Him; for he that cometh to God must believe that He is and is a rewarder of them that diligently seek Him”.

How do we receive this faith? In Romans 10:17 (Amp) says 
“So faith comes by hearing (what is told), and what is heard comes by the preaching (of the message that comes from the lips) of Christ (the Messiah Himself)”.

Having received faith, it ought to be applicable in our daily living. James 2:7 says 
“Even faith, if it had not works is dead, being alone”.

For us to live as overcomers that we are, we need Faith 1 John 5:4 says 
“For whatsoever is born of God overcometh the world and this is the victory that overcometh the world even our faith”.

On the battlefield of life as Christians, 1 Thessalonians 5:8 says 
“But let us who are of the day be sober, putting on the breastplate of faith and love and for an helmet, the hope of salvation”.

Concerning your health, James 5:14-15 says, 
“Is any sick among you? …and the prayer of faith shall save the sick, and the Lord shall raise him up and if he has committed any sins, they shall be forgiven him”.

In conclusion, faith in the Lord is all encompassing to a Christian and all the Lord Jesus demands is faith as small as mustard seed that is what is sufficient to move any form/type of mountain in life.
